The villa is a beautiful estate in Tuscany, in the heart of Chianti, and is made up of an 18th-century manor house next to an imposing medieval watchtower and about 60 hectares of land. The villa became part of the history of the Gori family in 1966, when it was purchased by Nello Gori. Always a passionate and refined wine connoisseur, Nello Gori began his career as a mediator between local producers and the best wineries in Tuscany and, with the precious support of his wife Tina and son Alessandro, during the ’70s he developed an international business, cultivating, winemaking and exporting large quantities of Chianti and Tuscan red wines to the United States of America.

As already stated, the villa covers an area of 60 hectares in the heart of Chianti, in the Chianti Colli Fiorentini area, and on the border with Chianti Classico. An unforgettable landscape where nature has been shaped over the centuries by the incessant work of man, of a poignant beauty that continues to enchant the world. Here fine wines and extra virgin olive oil have been produced for over three hundred years in an ideal microclimate. The winters are mild, the spring luxuriant and exuberant and the summers sunny and warm. At the end of September, the sun comes back sweet and temperatures drop, inflaming the landscape with the beautiful autumn colours. The seasons and activities related to the cultivation of vines and olive trees have long found their perfect balance here. About 30 hectares are cultivated with vineyards, most of them with the indigenous grape variety par excellence: Sangiovese. But there are also other traditional Italian vines from Tuscany and the Chianti area, such as Canaiolo and Colorino, as well as international vines such as Merlot and Cabernet, which give the wine's softness and elegance.

The villa's cellar is adjacent to the villa, camouflaged among the olive trees, cypresses, and sea pines, which frame a spectacular view towards the hills of San Gimignano.  Built in the ’70s, in the style of a typical Italian winery, the value of tradition is combined with innovation to guarantee quality.  Every step is entrusted to the wise care of Duccio Gori. He is the youngest of seven grandchildren but a true master in the vinification of the precious Chianti Docg and IGT wines under the careful direction of oenologist Fabrizio Moltard and agronomist Elio Galardi. The precious bunches enter the cellar equipped for a production of the highest level and follow the winemaking processes in steel vats, perfect from a sanitary and thermal point of view, which allow a sealed environment evolution, without contact with oxygen, and thus keeping all the freshness, harmony and natural balance intact. Afterward, but only for some structured and tannic IGT red wines, long aging in French oak barriques is carried out in order to be enjoyed to their full potential.

There are 11 beautiful apartments that make up the villa. There are apartments in the main villa, others with park view,s and others at the rear of the villa. The villa can accommodate up to 30 persons in 10 apartments with 13 double beds and 12 bathrooms of different sizes.

  • 2 bathrooms with shower, 1 ensuite

The four apartments Torre, Affresco, Terrazza, and Camino are located in the main villa and share the impressive entrance hall of the villa.

Furthermore, only 50m away from the villa there is a dependence  (farmhouse), which sleeps 4 + 2 persons. If there are more than 36 persons and accommodation is required, there are various other possibilities in a radius of 2km. If you are more than 36 people and need more accommodations, there are various other possibilities for staying overnight within a radius of 2 km.

WHY NOT?

​

- Have your wedding or celebration here. A ceremony can be held on the terrace with views of the towers of San Gimignano. Alternatively, a ceremony can be held at the town hall which is about 6 km from the villa, or the church of San Lazzaro which is about 200m from the villa.  The dining rooms in case of bad weather can accommodate approximately 120 persons and the pool area with the wood over would be ideal for a pizza party.
