The Magical

Italy is filled to the brim with unique and special places and it is just so hard to pick.

Below is just part of our selection. Make sure that if you are after something truly special that you let us know as we have a range of wonderful properties to share with you.

UMBRIA - If you are after a luxury getaway then this place is for you. Discovered in ruins in 2001, Riccardo & Marilisa Parisi immediately fell in love with the "pile of rocks" dreaming to bring it back to life and then did. The restoration took many years of devotion and was carried out using original materials and preserving the character of the place. Most of the furniture, paintings, china, and silver are from the owner’s family collection. This place is a secluded paradise, only 12km from Gubbio.  A country retreat and the rooms offer all the facilities one would expect, air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV and more. With a simple cuisine based on zero miles food and fresh organic vegetables. Add outside spaces, a gazebo, and a pool.. the only thing missing is a choir of angels!  Quote reference: 4411.

The Amalfi Coast - This is one of our favourite hotels in Positano. Located in a pedestrianised area and well hidden and private. Everything about this place is quality and every attention to detail has been paid. The hotel started its days in the 1930s and still maintains a traditional existence. Breakfast is served from 0800-1100 on the veranda with sea view and guests can enjoy the sister restaurant which is in the historical centre. With a range of rooms to choose from with most of the room terraces/balconies with gorgeous climbing flowering plants and most offering panoramic views across the bay.  Quote reference: 2486.

Apulia - It is not easy to put into words the natural beauty of the coast that leads down from Otranto towards Leuca, where stretches of inaccessible rocky cliffs drop down into a crystal-clear blue sea, and you find a succession of picturesque little harbours with the little fishing villages behind them at just a few kilometres one from the other. Once you have passed the harbour at Tricase, continuing on towards Leuca, in the village called Funnu Voiere, you will find this typical local building perched directly above the sea. This is an ideal location for a romantic break. GROUND FLOOR: living-room with dining area, fireplace and single sofa bed, small kitchen with oven and freezer, 1 double bedroom with a possible third bed. The bedroom leads to 1 bathroom with a shower. A large private outdoor area with facilities and a panoramic outlook over the sea. Self-catering only from Saturday to Saturday. Piedmont - A wonderful pied-a-terre which allows you to discover the region of Piedmont. There is ample living space, and it has been suitably used as a small reception facility with five elegant mini-suites, all with bath, all different and decorated with authentic furniture in typical elegant Piedmontese style, with particular care and attention to the furnishing details. All rooms are equipped with LAN/wifi connection, there is also a room with a complete kitchenette. The reception is directly supervised by the owner. With rich buffet breakfasts prepared with local and seasonal specialities, ample parking, and a quiet, green garden for moments of relaxation and for summer breakfasts.  Quote reference: 4446.

Emilia Romagna - We have selected this Locanda due to its special location. Set within the walls of the old town of Castelvetro di Modena, one of the most well-preserved medieval towns in the region of Emilia Romagna. Located in the oldest part of the castle, which in its time was an Etruscan acropolis and later became a Roman military camp: a CASTRUM mentioned in documents dated 280 BC. Here your accommodation is in a suite, the calla suite, the Girasole suite, the Rosa suite, and the Magnolia suite. Add to this breakfast in the morning, which can also be served in your room, there is a wonderful restaurant here with an a la carte menu ranging from Lidia’s Tortellini in a Capron broth to Black pork cured Bologna style with sautéed vegetables… yummy. While here we would definitely recommend that you take part in a cooking lesson with Roberto and wine tasting. From cycling to sightseeing, this is a great spot to be located for the start of your Emilia Romagna adventure. Quote reference: 4446a.

DID YOU KNOW: Roberto Rossi, the chef, attended the hospitality training institute of Carpi, where he received his diploma and a specialisation in cuisine. After some experience in the kitchen both in Valeggio and in Milano Marittima, at only 21 he become the restaurant manager. In 2009, Roberto, along with Paolo Teverini, Ercole Lega, and Stefano Masanti, brought the association “Chef & Chefs” and the kitchen of “Charme & Relax” back to its original splendour. Meanwhile, Andrea, after his scientific studies, obtained a diploma in hotel management assistant and sommelier. After experiencing with the art of mixing drinks as a barman he became the head of reception and maître at the Locanda. Andrea.

APULIA - The rhythm of the turquoise Adriatic lapping at your door, here we have selected simply pure luxury amidst nature’s spectacular beauty. The peace and colours are hypnotic, blue sea, sky and pools, and a warm pink on a summer evening captured in the hue of a stone.  With seven pools, plunges, and cascades, stretching before the 13 exclusive guestrooms, small but you have the expanse of the sea before you. Behind each room is the dramatically beautiful Adriatic, where waves splash on the rocks leading to a sandy seabed, an irresistible invitation. With a private beach with parasols and loungers. Add to this the fresh taste of the sea and the restaurant within walking distance and you have found romantic perfection. Quote reference: 4446e.

ROME - Stay in one of the most magnificent places of Roman history, a palazzo which also houses the Spanish Embassy: this is what it means to choose the suite here. Enter, feeling at home, through the doorway in Piazza di Fontanella Borghese, and go through the magnificent courtyard with its terraces and statues. The 70m sq suite is on the ground floor, the entrance opens onto the large Salone, completely painted and furnished with antiques. A glass table which can be extended to accommodate up to six persons: ideal for dining or for business meetings. A brand-new, well-equipped kitchen. The suite double bedroom with a view of the monumental courtyard and the garden has an enormous bathtub with hydro-massage. The perfect place, then, for a romantic stay, or for business meetings in the capital, Rome.

It is the first time that the family opens the doors of one of their homes to the public. A rare occasion to live history from within, in the historical centre of the capital, lodging in one of the four marvels of Rome, in a period residence where the walls and the doors are decorated with priceless paintings and frescoes.

Up to 2+2 persons can be accommodated here in 1 bedroom and sofa bed. Quote reference:  4446z.
