A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY......

 

We had a wonderful holiday and all your arrangements worked out well.

 

The B and B in Palermo was what we expected.  Wonderful position, charming and helpful owner, breakfast good.  The room led out onto a charming communal courtyard which was a bonus.  The only downside is that taxis could not get to it as it is on a one-way road in the market.  We needed a meeting place for taxis but as we were not familiar with the area we could not nominate one.

 

The next hotel was a lovely 5-star hotel.  The only disappointment is that the room was on the small side.  Two upright chairs so the only place to relax was on the bed. Also they did not give us your message about the change in hire car arrangements for 48hours. By the way, the hire car company was very good and delivered and collected the car at no extra cost.

 

The guide Roberto in Syracuse was by far the best of the guides we had.  The others were knowledgeable and good.  The tour in Syracuse included food (amazing).

 

Did you realise the Fiat 500 tour was in classic cars (45 years old), it was great fun and well organised.  I suspect it would not work in the summer as the cars had no air conditioning (or seat belts). 

 

The driver, Francesco, who took us from Palermo to Taormina,  to Syracuse and to the airport was very good and helped us greatly at the airport.

Although I have listed a number of points above, none of them affected our enjoyment of the holiday.  Your restaurant recommendations were very good.  Thank you for all your meticulously planning which meant we had a great time.
