-Byron's Cup: International swimming race dedicated to Lord Byron, the famous English poet who, according to legend swam across the Gulf of La Spezia, from Porto Venere to San Terenzo to reach his friend the poet PB Shelley. The race has now reached its 35th edition, once reserved to a few daredevils, it counts today over 250 contestants every year. This unique setting in the world attracts swimmers from every country for a competition undoubtedly challenging: the crossing covers a distance of 7.5 Km with stretches in the open sea and is often subject to the winds for a period of about an hour and a half.

- Festa Di Sant'Erasmo: To celebrate St. Erasmus , every year from July 2nd there are many initiatives that create a rich calendar of events involving mussels. It is the traditional night foot race of 9 km, and the inevitable procession of the statue of the saint carried on the shoulders by Sailors of Italy and the Lerici Brotherhood of St. Erasmus. The day after, another major event is the placing at sea of thousands of floating candles, an emotional splendid show followed by fireworks: richer and more fascinating every year. In 2015, the last day of celebrations was marked by the mass in memory of the fallen at sea, from spaghetti with mussels and mussels offered by the Cooperative of Mussels of Pozzuolo.

- Diving & Snorkelling in Lerici

- The Festival of the Mussel: Lerici is a place where a unique landscape is adorned with ancient fishing villages full of history, culture, and tradition. Here, the products of the land and the sea are an additional reason for long or short trips, to savour local specialities such as mussels and oysters, the pride of Lerici’s territory, and, for this reason, the main ingredients of various gastronomic territorial preparations. For four days in September, the village is transformed into a wonderful stage, where you will participate in original theme dinners, wine tastings, cooking shows conducted by important names of national and international catering, cooking classes, concerts, culinary competitions, and conferences.

- Palio del Golfo: Has its roots in the maritime culture of the people of the Gulf, this is held every year on the first Sunday in August in the sea off the city of La Spezia. 13 boats, similar to the "national fishing boat" made by hand, challenge each other, trying to excel and set a new record. Born, probably with impromptu challenges between workboats, crews loaded with fish or ancient "black gold" of La Spezia Gulf: mussels or "muscles" as they are better known around the arch of the Gulf. The challenges were very important as the victory was not just a sporting victory but could allow off-loading priorities at the dock of the fish or of the transported product, thereby increasing the possibility of gain or anyway allowing you to enjoy a little well-earned rest first. Even today, it is lived with passion by all the citizens, and especially by the inhabitants of modern surrounding areas, Renowned neighbourhoods and villages - which face the sea: Portovenere, Le Grazie, Fezzano, Cadimare, Marola, CRDD (Recreational Defense Employees Circle), Canaletto , Fossamastra, Muggiano, San Terenzo, Venere Azzurra, Lerici and Tellaro.
