"Wine rejoices the heart of Man and Joy is the Mother of all Virtues"
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Piedmont, known as Piemonte is where our group commence their 4-night stay at our beautiful Relais in the heart of the countryside, our green mansion. This is the perfect place to get away from it all. They arrive, check-in, and enjoy a meal that evening. Small round tables decorated with garden flowers, candles, and white tablecloths create that pleasant sense of intimacy that the relais is all about.
The next day, breakfast is served, fragrant bread, jams, sweets as well as savoury omelettes bursting with the flavours of the Tenuta’s own vegetables and cereals, and then it is time for the wine tour to begin. A wine tour of the farm is one of the things you can’t miss if you choose to stay here. All you need to do is to open the door and follow the tiny path which leads to the vineyard and enter a unique scenario. Rows of Cortese and Barbera vines, hedges, farmed fields, wooded areas. The tour will take you to the wine cellar, a mud-brick creation by Martin Rauch and a wine tasting will now take place. In the afternoon, head to Golf Club Colline del Gavi (Tassarolo) for a burst of activity. Featuring an 18-hole championship course, 9 executive holes, and a restaurant.
On day 3, it is time to take a leisurely drive to Asti where you will visit the Coppo winery. The cellars are made up of a series of underground passageways and corridors which date back to the end of the 1800s. Known as the Underground Cathedrals for their spectacular beauty, uniqueness, and historical authenticity, they were recognized by UNESCO in 2014 as a: World Heritage Site. At the end of the private guided visit through the underground cellars, the wine tasting will take place in a specially reserved room, with the support of multimedia content (photos, videos, virtual tours in the vineyards). For those who love fine wines that are able to stand the test of time, we have created a tour that concludes with a tasting of 3 Riserva wines, the most prestigious of the winery, and our Moncalvina Moscato d’Asti “Canelli”. Learn the differences between the two main processes of sparkling wine (Charmat and Metodo Classico), the processing stages of making a Spumante Metodo Classico, and the importance of fermenting yeast action during the long period of ageing in the bottle. The visit lasts for about two hours and concludes with a wine tasting with local delicacies.
On day 4, you have the option of exploring the surrounding countryside, take part in one of the property's cookery courses. take it easy and relax or take a walk or enjoy a ride on your mountain bike or some horseback riding.
We now move elsewhere and you will be staying in a suite. With a private patio and garden and with a wonderful and amazing panoramic view over the Barolo Valley. Your stay here includes:
