We start our journey at this urban resort made up of 16 unique guestrooms and suites which have been built around a 17th-century private home which is in the heart of Old Lecce. This is a modern-day Masseria with olive trees surrounding the swimming pool is an homage to Antonia Fiermonte, the owner’s grandmother. This house is a fusion of traditional Puglia design and contemporary accents and here you will find a mix of rare antiques and contemporary artwork belonging to the family, including pieces by Courboisier, Perriand and Tobia Scarpa with Italian furniture and custom textiles.

 

Available here, guests can enjoy Free WiFi throughout, on-site parking, flat screen TV, WiFi, minibar with free bottled water, and sound system. There is a pool, a spa and outside spaces for that summer’s day of just lazing about the pool.

TIPS & SUGGESTIONS:

  • Check out Galleria Borghese - Its collections are housed in a magnificent 17th-century villa and offer a compact course in the Italian aesthetic. In just 20 rooms, you are exposed to antiquities, the Renaissance and the beginnings of baroque art. Visits to the Galleria in the northeast corner of the sprawling Villa Borghese park are by reservation, which allows you the pleasure of seeing the Bernini sculptures from every angle without being crowded out. This is what Nancy says…. Other items: we did want to go to the Borghese Gallery, but when we went to book tickets (which we knew needed to be done ahead of time) there was no availability for more than a week a week out. I would recommend that you advise clients to book the visit right away, or before, they arrive in Rome - depending on how long they are staying.

  • San Luigi dei Francesi……… if you love Caravaggio then come here… The Calling of Saint Matthew hangs in the Contarelli Chapel of the San Luigi dei Francesi church. Two other Caravaggio works — St. Matthew and the Angel and the Martyrdom of St. Matthew — which round out the triptych, are also on permanent display here.  Come here in the morning as it closes at lunchtime. you'll have to drop a few coins to light up the paintings in the darkened interior and see how Caravaggio infused his own light into the baroque melodrama.   • Giorgio de Chirico House-Museum - 31 Piazza di Spagna, Rome, Italy 00187; 39-06-679-6546.  You are visiting the place where he lived, yes where he lived !!!!  He lived here for more than 30 years until his death in 1978.  You cannot but also notice how the “upper crust” lived for centuries as this apartment is accompanied by one of the best views of Rome overlooking the splendid Piazza di Spagna. The living area has been left largely as it was during De Chirico's life and displays dozens of his works. Reservations must be made in advance. 

 

 

 

This is a place in Sicily, you go for the experience and to reconnect to your inner being. Do not judge this place from the comfort perspective but via the inventiveness and the uniqueness on what is on offer.  While here you have access to a beach which is right outside, 2 restaurants offering simple traditional food and a bar facility. The whole point of staying here is to stay in one of the “art rooms” and there are many to experience – 20 to be correct choose wisely!

Completely immersed in a natural environment and surrounded by olive trees and by its own vineyards, this “working farm” is in the heart of the Chianti Classico,  15 km South of Florence and located on top of a hill from where you can enjoy a panoramic view. Various works and sculptures of major contemporary Italian and foreign artists are installed in some of the most attractive parts of the village and in the gardens of the main owner’s villa. This mini complex is made up of apartments and rooms, in total accommodating a total of up to 30 guests. The apartments and the bedrooms are fitted out with fully equipped kitchens, telephone, satellite TV, WIFI, safes, and heating.
