Together, select fresh ingredients for your hands-on cooking class, preparing traditional Sicilian dishes inspired by The Leopard by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa—like savoury pies and Beccaficio sardines—or Malavoglia by Giovanni Verga, including battered anchovies and sweet almonds.
Not keen on cooking? Simply sip a glass of Sicilian wine while watching, then enjoy the delicious feast once it’s ready—pure “Siciliano” flavour at its finest.
Evening – Dinner at Antica Focacceria S Francesco
Savour an unforgettable dining experience at Antica Focacceria S Francesco, a historical Palermo restaurant celebrated for its authentic Sicilian cuisine. Begin with the traditional Schiticchio Antica Focacceria, followed by Rigatoni alla Norma, featuring tomato sauce, fried eggplant, ricotta salata, and basil. For the main course, choose between swordfish with cherry tomatoes, olives, capers, and fresh mint, or beef rolls stuffed with caciocavallo cheese, raisins, pine nuts, and breadcrumbs. In the afternoon, join our guide for a street food experience, sampling iconic Sicilian treats like arancini, the city’s beloved fried rice balls, and immerse yourself in Palermo’s vibrant culinary culture.
Good to Know – Santa Lucia Day in Palermo
On December 13th, Palermo celebrates Santa Lucia, the patron saint of arancini, when this beloved street food truly shines—best enjoyed with a cold bottle of beer. Explore a variety of Sicilian street foods, including panino con le pannelle, pane con milza, focaccia, frittola, stigghiola, and more. Experience the rich flavours and vibrant traditions of Sicily on this special day.
On that evening, a reservation will be made at the elegantly minimalist Bye Bye Blues restaurant, owned by Patrizia di Benedetto, Sicily's first female chef to have earned a Michelin star, along with her husband. Indulge in a delectable meal featuring risotto with wild fennel, tuna bottarga with marinated squid, lamb in almond sauce, and a leek crust with pumpkin and pomegranate. Conclude the evening and your trip with a glass of Berlucchi Franciacorta Rose 61.
