Day 1: WELCOME TO ITALY You will meet your driver and be transferred to Serralunga D'Alba. Accommodation at the luxury Hotel Boscareto Resort and Spa, a charming 5-star hotel. Overnight

 

Day 2: LANGHE FULL DAY GUIDED TOUR Breakfast at the hotel. You will meet your driver and guide in the lobby and head to the Grinzane Cavour castle, a symbol of the Langa del Barolo. Transformed into a production base for the great wines of Langa and hosting an important wine and ethnographic museum which illustrates the local farming traditions. Then continue to Alba, also known as the “city of 100 towers”, the capital of the Langhe region, known worldwide for its wines and its prestigious white truffles. 

 

Stop for lunch at a characteristic which has received numerous awards for its wines and has been frequently recognised in the press and media. A wine tasting will take place. The tour will end with a visit to La Morra, with its enchanting panoramic view of the 11 villages producing Barolo wine. Return to your hotel for a private luxury massage. Dinner at the high-quality Michelin hotel restaurant, where a tasting menu will be enjoyed, paired with 2 wines.  The restaurant has 10 tables dedicated to haute cuisine, with a young and dynamic brigade, and run by Executive Chef Fabrizio Tesse with his own vision of the Langhe territory, and accompanied by the resident chef Alberto Bai.  The flavours and the dishes that created the tradition of this area of Piedmont are the focus of Chef Tesse, classical preparations reinterpreted for those who are interested in codified flavours, but also in the new trends and cooking techniques.

 

Day 3: LANGHE FULL DAY GUIDED TOUR: Breakfast and you will meet the truffle hunter and his inseparable dog.  This is the best way to discover this delicacy, seeing it with your own eyes and discovering the art of finding truffles. He will explain all its secrets, including where it grows, how the dog is trained, and much more. Remember: this is a simulation so you are not going to keep the truffles he will find! Stop for lunch at a characteristic restaurant. Lunch will be truffle based of course and includes wines. In the second part of the day, you will visit the charming village of Cherasco, founded in the 13th century on a plain, unlike other towns and villages of the Langhe. One of the most intriguing moments of the day will be the visit to an ancient winery. Return to your hotel. Overnight.

 

Day 4: LANGHE – TIGULLIO GULF – SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE: After breakfast, private transfer to Santa Margherita Ligure.  Car and chauffeur at your disposal for up to 8 hours. Visit Sestri Levante, Chiavari, Rapallo, one of the most popular resort towns on the Italian Riviera. Boutiques, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants line the tiny streets. Overnight at the luxury hotel Grand Hotel Miramare which overlooks the sea. 

 

Day 5: CINQUE TERRE: Breakfast. Today enjoy an exclusive excursion by yacht or sailboat to uncover the beauty of Le Cinque Terre, picturesque seaside villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola. Riomaggiore......... You will stop and have a light lunch with local specialities, focaccia, and salted anchovies or a nice plate of pasta al pesto. If you like we can also arrange a lesson with the skipper regarding basic sailing rules.

Day 6: CINQUE TERRE- SAN GIMIGNANO – SIENA – CHIANTI: After breakfast at the hotel, meet the driver and departure to Tuscany. The first visit is San Gimignano, a splendid example of a medieval town declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. San Gimignano will leave you spellbound by its beauty. Visit a prestigious winery producing “Vernaccia di San Gimignano”, the first DOC wine in Italy. Possibility to have lunch in a real medieval tower, exclusively reserved for you.

 

The tour proceeds to Siena, for a guided private tour of Italy’s loveliest medieval city. Siena’s heart is Il Campo where the famous horse race “Il Palio”, takes place two times each summer. The town offers magnificent masterpieces and incredible views. In the afternoon transfer to Castello del Nero Hotel & Spa, a beautiful and luxurious Castle in Chianti. Overnight.

Day 7: VINTAGE TOUR ON CHIANTI HILL BY SPIDER: Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will enjoy a unique experience driving a vintage car, either a Fiat 500 or ALFA ROMEO Spider (this will all be subject to availability). During the tour with a professional tour escort, you will stop at an important winery to have a light lunch and taste good wine. Dinner and overnight. 

 

Day 8: MONTALCINO AND MONTEPULCIANO: Breakfast. Today, you will taste some of the most famous Italian wines, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Meet your driver and departure to Montalcino. This ancient village is best known for its red Brunello di Montalcino wines, made with Sangiovese Grosso grapes. You will enjoy a private visit to a Brunello producer, like the prestigious Poggio Antico estate for example. On the way to the winery, you can stop for a quick visit to the stunning ruins of the 9th century Abbazia di Sant’Antimo. At the winery, you will visit the cellars and the vineyards and take part in a tasting of Brunello “Riserva” and also Rosso di Montalcino. Lunch will be in the winery’s restaurant.

 

After lunch, carry on to Montepulciano, a small village of Etruscan origin and one of the most beautiful hill towns in Tuscany. The Nobile wines of Montepulciano were the first to be given the ultimate quality level of DOCG certification. A visit to a top estate like Valdipiatta or Avignonesi where a tasting of Vino Nobile will take place. (The wine is aged for 2 years with at least 1 year in oak barrels). In the late afternoon, enjoy some free time in Montepulciano and then transfer to your hotel. Overnight.

 

 

Day 9: SIENA – ROME AIRPORT: After breakfast, a private transfer to Rome airport.
