Seasonal News
It is
now time to get ready for the summer and yes we have suffered so much with
the weather that the sun beckons. For June, July and August why not
find the perfect holiday and head to one of the many Italian beaches which
are just waiting to be discovered or why not head to the Italian countryside
or the mountains and discover the real beauty of Italy
with its rolling hills mixed with a touch of wine tasting and a cooking
lesson. Go
horse riding in the vineyards, learn how to make pizza and gelato, hire a
Classic Convertible for the weekend with the wind in your hair, or why not
take a tour on Lake
Como with an original
Riva.
Discover the sandy beaches of Sardinia, the
limestone cliffs and seafront monasteries of Apulia, bathe in the wonders of
Siena and the famous palio which is one of those
100 things to see before you die, head off the beaten track as there are
still so many places which remain intact and untouched by tourism, small
towns and villages, Italian islands…..
Summer is also the time for music. From the
festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, to the Umbria Jazz festival in Perugia
which oozes music from ticketed performances to music on the streets, the
Trasimeno Music festival in July, Estate Romana, the Verona opera, Music on
Lake Como, the Puccini festival… to name but a few. Combine this with summer
festivals like the Sagra di San Giovanni on lake Como where hundreds of tiny
lamps float on the lake with firework displays in the evening (June), the
same festival is also held in Florence with a medieval tournament followed by
music, drinking and having a good time. Add to this the Tuscan Sun
Festival in Cortona, the celebration of La Madonna della Neve where snow is
recreated with flower petals at the church
of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, the Festa della Madonna Bruna in Matera in July where a carnival atmosphere
reigns and one of the best firework displays ever. There are so many more
festivals available throughout the country which just adds to the excitement.
For
that something unique, we are here waiting to introduce you.
